Personal experience
After completing the medical school he worked in Rwinkwavu hospital, one of the most respected healthcare institutions for cancer diagnostic and treatment in the country. He mainly worked in internal medicine, pediatrics, maternity and emergency services. He is very passionate of consulting patients; understand the background of their sickness for the sake of a comprehensive treatment.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Jean Pacifique has been actively involved in working with Partners in health (PIH) which is an international nonprofit public health organization founded by Paul Farmer and well known to be the champion in providing healthcare in the poorest areas of developing countries. He actively engaged himself, together with Rwandan colleague doctors supported by experts from USA to reduce the mortality rate related to HIV. He also played his role as a medical doctor for increasing the accessibility of diagnosis and treatment of non-communicable diseases. He benefited from different trainings both in country and outside the country.
Dr Jean Pacifique participated in peace keeping missions organized by African Union and UN in Soudan. His responsibility was to provide health services to the people in war regions of Soudan. He shares the passion of helping people in need which is one of ideals of St Theresa foundation.
Outside of his medical career, Dr Jean Pacifique is a passionate of digital health innovations and its contributions to the development of health system holistically. He is the Co-founder of a startup IT company mainly focusing on heath solutions. Today the company is developing a IT based platform, which will connect the patient to the health facility &the pharmacy at his/her fingertips.
Dr Jean Pacifique is interested in upgrading his knowledge and therefore planning to continue his studies to gain more specialized skills for the better provision of health services to St Theresa Clinic.
