The Sainte Theresa Foundation is a nonprofit initiative founded by AHAYO Marie Anita, MPH together with experienced humanitarian professionals, as an extension of the impactful work of Saint Theresa Polyclinic . Rooted in values of compassion, dignity, and service, the Foundation aims to bring healthcare closer to poor and vulnerable communities in rural Rwanda. Through mobile clinics, digital health services, community pharmacies, and public health education, we seek to reduce the burden of disease and promote preventive care in alignment with Christian values of solidarity and care for the most vulnerable.
Established in 2013, Saint Theresa Polyclinic in Eastern Rwanda serves over 40,000 patients annually and has become a trusted provider of quality medical services in the region. As the clinic expands its infrastructure, including mother and child care and gastro-endoscopic services, among others the Foundation will enable outreach beyond the facility’s walls—focusing on equitable access and community-based care.
Our Foundation is committed to promoting health equity by ensuring that everyone has access to quality healthcare services. Through our Clinic Facility, we provide essential medical care, from preventive to curative services, focusing on reaching underserved communities. The clinic stands as a vital step toward making healthcare a shared right rather than a privilege.
We also emphasize community-based care by working with local leaders and volunteers to promote awareness, education, and healthy living. Beyond being a treatment center, the clinic serves as a trusted space for holistic well-being and empowerment. This initiative reflects our dedication to sustainable social responsibility and our belief that healthy communities are the foundation of lasting progress.
